God wants to be part of your ordinary everyday!


​Choose one of these scriptures to read as a family each night for the next week.  

Galatians 5:13
My friends, you were chosen to be free. So don't use your freedom as an excuse to do anything you want.  Use it as an opportunity to serve each other with love.

Ephesians 5:1-2
Do as God does.  After all, you are his dear children.  Let love be your guide.  Christ loved us and offered his life for us as a sacrifice that pleases God.

Galatians 6:7-8
You cannot fool God, so don't make a fool of yourself! You will harvest what you plant.  If you follow your selfish desires, you will harvest destruction, but if you follow the Spirit, you will harvest eternal life.
Spend some time  discussing what the scripture mean for you at this time,
 then finish by ​listening to "Child of God".

Some suggestions for questions to help your discussion:

What does freedom mean to you?
How would our world look if we were 'free' to do anything we wanted whenever we wanted?
What do you think God means by freedom?
Does God's freedom mean lack of choices?
How would our world look if we choose to make our choices with God at the centre and others as the focus?
Who did God give us to help us understand this statement? :"Do as God does."
What does it mean when you hear the words 'let love be your guide'?
Who is someone in your life that lets love be their guide?
What does Sacrifice mean?
What does it mean to offer yourself to God everyday?  
​Do you have to sacrifice anything?
Does it hurt to sacrifice, is it good for us? Does God want us to never feel pain? 
Look around the world and some of the problems you see on the news. Do you think some of these tragic situations are caused by people's selfishness? 
What does it mean to follow the Spirit?
How can you hear the voice or the guide of the Spirit in your life? Is it easy to hear?
​Eternal life ...what does this mean to you? 

What does it mean when you ask yourself, "What would Jesus do?"
