There is a sand ceremony at weddings that symbolises the unity of the couple getting married.
The idea is that each person puts sand into a vase and as it mixes it represents that the couple will be united forever.
A beautiful idea,
but in reality we can little by little remove grains of sand and put them back into our separate containers.
